Beautiful dark song by the stranglers. Would pass as Prog in my book.

Their cover of Walk On By is still the one I need to listen to regularly but No More Heroes, 5 Minutes, Nice and Sleazy, Get A Grip and Hanging Around are also classic British punk/new wave tracks that I love. Of that era and genre only Siouxsie and The Banshees maybe bettered them with their ultra sophisticated music like Christine, Peep Show and Israel.

I never was a fan of the punk era/genre, but the Stranglers seemed to me like intelligent punk with proggy elements - their debut album is a veritable masterpiece. Especially 'Peaches' '(Get a) Grip (on Yourself)' and the 8-minute mini-epic 'Down in the Sewer'.

From their most accessible album Dreamtime, a very cool song
