Stumbled across this while searching for fast prog metal. I love it. Ink Complete by Spastic Ink. With guitarist Ron Jarzombek who worked with Watchtower, whose album Control and Resistance is very good as well.

It's very technical, fast and overall crazy.

^ That's Ron Jarzombek on guitar there. Spastic Ink did two albums. Before that, he was in Watchtower. Late 2000s, he created Blotted Science.

His playing cannot be called Guthie Govan-esque when he preceded Guthrie by quite a few years. Confused

Decent group, but less subtle if you ask me. Not sure if classic jazz mixes well with metal. Same issue with Sound Struggle.

I was going to recomend the album you mentioned. So I will recommend Electric Cartoon Music From Hell by Electrocution 250:

And Diffusion by 7 For 4:

By the way, I assume that you are familiarized with the GOAT:

Less comparable, but this is incredible:

EDIT:

Also, these two are a must:

I will stop at some point... I just love this genre.

Here you can watch the man in person:

And how to forget about these absolute maniacs:
