Formerly known as Givre, Entheos are a Canadian post-black metal band from Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec. In existence since 2010, Givre changed their name and approach in 2014, performing a style of atmospheric black metal informed by jazz, sludge, Jorge Luis Borges and H.P. Lovecraft, earning them critical comparisons to Altar of Plagues, Gris, Fen, Krallice and Sombres Forêts. The band began as a quintet consisting of lyricists and Givre veterans David Caron-Proulx (guitars/vocals) and Jean-Lou David (vocals), along with Daniel-André Bélanger (bass), Simon Fortier St-Pierre (guitars) and Jessy Normand (drums; of Pallor Mortis).

Sombres Forêts' Annatar both produced and performed on Entheos' first two releases, 2015's Ototeman and 2017's Le Zahir, both issued through Montreal label Atondo Musique. Later reduced to the trio of Caron-Proulx, Normand and Bélanger, Entheos independently issued their Colin Marston-mastered EP, Continent, via Bandcamp and on cassette through Winter Sky Records in 2020.

Givre reactivated in 2021 as a separate project, and Entheos returned in 2024 with their third full-length, Acédie, once again self-released and demonstrating a new and pronounced technical death metal influence. The album featured lead vocals by Laurent Bellemare (of Basalte and Sutrah), with additional guitar and basswork by Sebastien Lampron (of Blind Suffering).
