I too was inspired by the flood of favorite ten albums + favorite song from each of those. And I figured if I didn't do it, we would never get one for Can. My favorite band - among a handful few. I went chronologically, because I could never decide on the placing. If you dont know as many as ten, make a post for the one's you know. Here's mine:
Monster Movie - Father Cannot Yell, 1969 Soundtracks - Mother Sky, 1970 Tago Mago - Halleluwah, 1971 The Lost Tapes - Dead Pigeon Suite (recorded 1972) Ege Bamyasi - One More Night, 1972
Future Days - Spray, 1973
Soon Over Babaluma - Chain Reaction, 1974 Landed - Vernal Equinox, 1975 Saw Delight - Animal Waves, 1977 Out Of Reach - November, 1978
The five-six first were extra difficult. There's so much more to love.

It's been a long time since I listened to anything after the Suzuki era so I just listed the albums from which I can actually remember songs:

I rarely listen to Can, I need a special mood for them, I will make a list once I do some listening.

1. Tago Mago: Aumgn
2. Ege Bamyasi: Soup
3. Future Days: Bel Air
4. Soundtracks: Mother Sky
5. Landed: Vernal Equinox
6. Monster Movie: Yoo Doo Right
7. Flow Motion: I Want More
8. Out Of Reach: Pauper's Daughter And I
9. Can: Can Can
I
suppose Aumgn is your absolute favorite Can-track then? I genuinely love it when
I'm in the mood - which isn't always. It was difficult leaving out Bel Air and Yoo Do Right. Surprised you left out "Soon Over Babaluma". Really incredible album from start to finish, I think. Love I Want More and "Flow Motion" is a nice album. it would have taken the 11th spot.

Can is really great. Some of the albums I had to delve back into to refresh myself. I say had to, but it was a [saw] delight to do so.
- Mother Upduff (recorded 1969, released on Limited Edition in 1974) - Mary, Mary So Contrary (Monster Movie, 1969) - Mother Sky (Soundtracks, 1970) - Halleluwah (Tago Mago, 1971) - Vitmain C (Ege Bamyasi, 1972 - Bel Air (Future Days, 1973) - Dizzy, Dizzy (Soon Over Babaluma, 1974) - The Loop (recorded 1974, released on The Lost Tapes in 2012,) - Vernal Equinox (Landed, 1975) - Sodom (Can, 1979)
Bonus: I Want More (Flow Motion, 1976). Love this funky track but love the old Euro disco cover, by Galacticus or something, more, which weirdly I am not finding on the internet with searches. Would have thought I could find it in less than a minute, but it seems I find it harder and harder to find things I want quickly on google.

Love them all, except
that I can't remember this track . In fact I can't remember a single
thing from this album of theirs (but I've rated it three stars). I
should go back to it, as every time I revisit their later 1970's albums I
enjoy them a little more.

I'm much less used to ranking tracks within an album vs. ranking albums, artists, tracks from different albums/artists. So these 10 X 10 lists are very hard for me. Anyway, I make a start with Can. Let's see whether I get any further.
Monster Movie - Yoo Doo Right
Soundtracks - Mother Sky (the 10X10 task basically asks to list nine; Mother Sky will always be there I guess)
Tago Mago - Paperhouse
Future Days - Spray
Ege Bamyasi - Spoon
Unlimited Edition - Ibis
Soon Over Babaluma - Come Sta La Luna
Landed - Half Past One
Saw Delight - Call Me
Delay 1968 - Thief
As always with these things, there were some mightily tight decisions that may play out differently next time I think about this (several of these albums are extremely consistent like Soon Over Babaluma or the first Tago Mago where pretty much everything could qualify, also The Lost Tapes and the live albums I have hold some treasures, and some music on Rite Time sounds much better now than my first impression was at the time).

^ I'm used to having particular favourite tracks in albums (standouts), although choosing between those is not that easy commonly, and I would not consider my lists definitive. It's an enjoyable exercise for me to return to music often and to check out music sometimes from other people's lists or in researching my own.

One of the big pleasures for me in these topics is coming across track names that I am not that familiar with or at all and cheking those out (and I almost always keep a tab with youtube and/or bandcamp open) and returning to albums that I don't know well (or it could be ones I did not know at all). It's not an album I ever had listened to more than once through, and I returned to the album to consider choosing one. In this case I had listened to that album for the first time all the way through not too long ago. Sometimes I just play bits and pieces of the tracks to remind my myself or to find something that appeals and then listen all the way though. Most of my list were the names that automatically sprang to mind when looking through the album track listings and in various cases where I know them so well I don't need to look up the album. Even for bands I know very well, there is a research element commonly in looking through the album tracks and playing music on youtube (I have six of those albums I listed in my collection, but I usually stream music these days).
Anyway, Sodom hits the spot for me.

^ Oh Yeah, not all CAN be. This topic just leaves me wanting more.
I compiled the lists from Saperlipopette!, Mirakaze, Lewian and myself and then made a youtube playlist out of it (really for myself, because there are a number of choices that I don't know that well or have not heard in a long time. Sorry if I made any mistakes.
- Delay 1968 - Thief (recorded 1968) - Monster Movie - Father Cannot Yell; Yoo Doo Right (x2); Mary, Mary So Contrary (1969) - Limited Edition - Mother Upduff (recorded 1969) - Soundtracks - Mother Sky (x4) (1970) - Tago Mago - Halleluwah (x2), Aumgn, Paperhouse (1971) - The Lost Tapes - Dead Pigeon Suite (recorded 1972), The Loop (recorded 1974) - Unlimited Edition - Ibis (recorded 1974) - Ege Bamyasi - One More Night, Soup, Spoon, Vitamin C (1972) - Future Days - Spray (x2), Bel Air (x2) (1973) - Soon Over Babaluma - Chain Reaction; Come Sta La Luna, Dizzy, Dizzy (1974) - Landed - Vernal Equinox (x3), Half Past One (1975) - Flow Motion - I Want More (1976) - Saw Delight - Animal Waves, Call Me (1977) - Out Of Reach - November, Pauper's Daughter and I (1978) - Can - E.F.S. No. 99 ("Can Can"), Sodom (1979)
It reminded me of how much I love Ege Bamyasi (my favourite album by Can right now), and I really loved hearing "Dead Pigeon Suite" again (a better choice than mine off that album).

My worry is that I couldn't select 10 albums: I know them all until Babaluma (and that includes Delay 68) so that's 7. I've never gone further - not even tried.
But my other worry is that I've never analyzed the different songs. Can is one of those 100% album bands to my eardrums.
A bit the same issue for APP and Saga. I never really went beyond their respective fourth album (actually third in both cases, as their fourth was already "not nearly as good" as their previous three), because of diminishing returns. It's not to say that I never heard anything from those later albums (either whole or parts), but never cared enough to extract a track or two that I lijed enough to retain its name.

Hi,
Cold day in Hell that I will choose a special album ... I suppose that the "later" CAN was not as good as the earlier CAN, but I'm not sure that is really fair to a lot of very nice stuff.
I'm particular to the Side 2 of Babaluma, and the 2 long cuts back to back ... with the prettiest transition between songs ... doing something that you can't teach a drummer about ... touch ... not beat ... TOUCH ... not beat. The majority of drummers don't know the difference, and continue their same beat.
