These "Rank The Tracks" lists that keep popping up from days of yore are a lot fun, but let's now be gluttons for punishment and really challenge ourselves with the 23 tracks from Genesis's double album masterpiece! (Helpful hint for those who are struggling: start by ranking the songs from each individual album side, and go from there!) 1. In the Cage 2. The Carpet Crawlers (or, "Carpet Crawl" if you prefer) 3. The Lamb might've gained being a single album (as ost concept double albums) ------------- let's just stay above the moral melee prefer the sink to the gutter keep our sand-castle virtues content to be a doer as well as a thinker, prefer lifting our pen rather than un-sheath our sword |

I remember an excerpt from a Tony Banks interview about TLLDOB published in 1974 before the Lamb official release. "our next album will be double and formed of a 23-section suite as Supper's ready has 7" Personally, I have always considered TLLDOB as a whole in four tableaux (the 4 sides whose lengths were limited only by the technology available back then) with of course a lot of key highlights. So no need for me to rank The lamb epic. |
