Chick Corea, specifically his solo material, deserves a place in the Jazz Rock/Fusion pages of PA.

Seems so. Albums like The Leprechaun and My Spanish Heart clearly have fusion elements.
You'd have to provide a bio and several samples if you want to seriously suggest good ole Chick.

Chick's The Mad Hatter has stood steadfast in my Top 50 all-time albums for 45 years now! Even higher than anything by RTF. Steve Gadd, Eddie Gomez, Herbie Hancock, Joe Farrell, and Gayle Moran all do amazing work to bring Chick's Alice in Wonderland concept to reality.
I agree that he DEFINITELY belongs in PA for his solo career work (not to mention the Elektric Band, Five Peace, Akoustic Band stuff). There's so much diversity (a plus and minus when thinking "prog") but incredible creativity as well (a big plus for prog inclusion).

I'm actually surprised that he hasn't been included on here yet, given his presence in the fusion world. Anyway, provided he gets pushed to the JR team, I'm 100% giving him a yes vote

^ but his solo albums aren't
@ Grumpy. Can you write an original bio? Just change things around a bit?
Also Chick released dozens of albums as a solo artist so it will be quite a chore adding them all but i agree he deserves to be here as a solo artists in addition to his other projects that are here.

I am not qualified to write anything about Chick but here is something.
Armando Anthony “Chick” Corea, June 12, 1941 - February 9, 2021. One of America's treasures. A world renowned composer and keyboardist he had a prolific musical journey that according to Downbeat "embodied a global range of reference—Bach and bebop coexisted with Bartók and the blues, Mozart and montunos, Ravel and rumba, Stravinsky and samba, all tempered with the Spanish tinge. He was master of his instrument, able to caress a lyric passage with the delicacy of a bel canto singer or articulate a wide array of grooves with the precision and grace of a tango dancer. His hands were completely independent, and he tossed off fleet embellishments with no apparent effort, though he never showed off, never deployed his enviable technique as an end unto itself. In any context, Corea was above all a musical storyteller, deploying whichever keyboard he used as a sound carrier, a tool of his imagination."
In addition to the fusion records he created with Return to Forever and Elektric Band, many of his solo albums were fusion and deserve to be celebrated.

^ Not a bad start but usually a biography should be more neutral & less effusive and include plenty of background info. Corea's career is complex and a proper original bio would be a substantial undertaking.

All good, I'll work on an original bio over the next few days. I've been looking for an excuse to write a more lengthy piece anyway, and based on this thread, it looks like the inclusion is practically a guarantee

^ according to RYM there are 80 albums in his canon but they're counting Return To Forever and C.C Elektric Band so it will probably be only half the number

The JF team has all but fallen apart. I have no idea when anything will get done there. I do know he was cleared so who knows when he will be added. Sorry

I, too, have been negligent in the responsibilities I volunteered to take on. Sorry. I'd like to say that I'm making progress (as I was 10 days ago), but I cannot like. My heart & mind are not into it. (Which albums should be considered his "solo" material as opposed to those on which he is credited with a duo, trio, or component role? What have you others decided, Brendan & Mira?)

My instinct says to keep the Return To Forever page intact and merge the Chick Corea Elektric Band albums into the new Chick Corea page (which would be in accordance with Miles Davis Quintet albums being on the Miles Davis page etc.). As for collaborative albums, my personal rule of thumb in general is to add those only when the artist in question is the first credited (meaning http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lyric_Suite_for_Sextet" rel="nofollow - this album would make the cut but http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crystal_Silence" rel="nofollow - this one wouldn't. Kind of arbitrary, I know, but then again: isn't everything?).
