Amogh Symphony, the avant-prog metal band by Multi-instrumentalist Composer from India Vishal J Singh, is known since their unconventional albums "Abolishing the obsolete system", "The Quantum Hack Code" and "Vectorscan" released back in the days when modern prog was evolving(era 2009-2014). Quite pretty underground yet known for his unique song arrangements. I discovered Amogh Symphony in Max Cavalera's personally compiled album "Slave New World" by Metal Hammer UK. Max wrote "One of my favorite Indian bands. If Mr Bungle becomes metal".

Resuming to present, Amogh Symphony released their new mini album "Automorphed" on their official Bandcamp site. I honestly think the album is too short but i think that's probably because Vishal wants it that way. Who am i to judge?

Automorphed launches into self titled cinematic sci-fi movie trailer music, disposing Vishal's Film Music Composer prowess, opening ways to "Ares" - a shapeshifting superhero track filled with adrenaline rush, feels and massive amount of heroic performance of instruments that will boost up your manly urge to fight against demons. Special mention : Daisuku Ekiguchi's intrepid saxophone solo is a big surprise in "Ares".

Enter "Atrytone". Restless, more shapeshifting arrangement but on a heavier odd time signature side of progressive metal. It is quite catchy, memorable and has a "bigger than life" feels to it from melodic synths and battle music orchestration. Followed by synth-prog track "Descendant" featuring 9 years old kid Vian Bora playing enourmous synthesizer stuff in unison with Vishal's complex guitar work. A hint of djent and dream theater-ish aura. It is trying to tell a story about how progressive metal evolved with time as the new descendant(i just made up this story in my mind). 

Lastly, my personal favorite "Vacuous Truth". Laying out Vishal's prodigious guitar work once again in modern technical death metal way which he hadn't lose in the 16 years existence of Amogh's music career. A cyborg like machine sounds in between with heavy dissonance, "Vacuous Truth" ends with a surprising Spanish Guitar outro. Pure class on its own!!!
