You cannot delete after someone has commented. My bad, but it strange that an unfinished poll got posted somehow. Confused

Well, not a huge problem.

I started making the entries, but hit the return button and that posted it.

The full poll is now also posted.

Aura - very eighties, but unlike Miles other 1980's albums it has it's moments.
Big Fun - one of my favorite albums
Quiet Nights - it has a bad reputation* but I think it's lovely. And I really hope your CD features this 13 minute highlight as a bonus track.

*as a cash grab and a contract filler. Miles himself never wanted it released, and it does come across as both unfinished + pleasantly safe. But I've learned that I love all of Miles Davis-leftovers - even if in a dinner music / bossa nova mode.

...Leonard Feather spoke for many when he complained in a Down Beat essay on Gil Evans that Columbia was "scrap[ing] the bottom of its corporate barrel" with this project Davis was furious when the record came out, shunning Teo Macero and Columbia's New York studios for more than three years. When Gregg Hall asked Davis in 1974, "What was the reason why you didn't speak to Teo [Macero] for two and a half years one time?", Davis answered, "'Cause he f**ked up Quiet Nights..."

-Leonard still gave it four out of five stars though. http://www.plosin.com/MilesAhead/Sessions.aspx?s=621106

That track is so wonderful, juts listening now. Miles Davis collaborating with Gil Evans has produced such beautiful results. I adore Sketches of Spain.

The only one of these I knew in the poll is Big Fun which is a big favourite of mine.

Hard to choose. Miles Davis has so many moods to his music, and each album has it's own distinctive flavor. I'll have to think about it before I can vote.

Yes, fortunately, it has that track!  Thanks for the info.

BTW, all these albums were from a library sale.  Many public libraries are getting rid of their CDs and DVDs. This library (in a small Southwestern town) was selling all of their Miles CDs, most of which I already had.
