Can you name the prominent musician who spent almost 3 months as drummer for MARILLION to leave the band later on to become one of the most renamed musicians under the name of another English band? And what the hell... what year was that Good luck! Land

Mick Pointer was kicked out of Marillion in 1983 and started Arena with Clive Nolan in 1994.

Damn you're good three! Yes, Andy Ward it is... he shared some good MARILLION times from 12 May 1983 to 8 August 1983

And you're good with facts dan! Yes, Mick was kicked out that same year... as a matter of fact, Pointer was replaced by Andy in the first place. Later on, the former Camel drummer will be replaced by ex- SOS member John Martyr on drums (who only lasted one month, August 1983 to be more precise) and by Johnatan Mover who lasted from 25 Sept to 12 Oct 1983. Ian Mosley would join the band 1st Jan 1984, after being part of the Steve Hackett Band experience (where he played drums on "Highly Strung").

I thought Jonathan Mover, who then moved into GTR, then bcame (as he is so far) a very much i ndemand session drummer in the East Coast rock and modern blues circles. |

Wow! Lucky you... the closer I've been to a prog rocker was during "La Carrera Panamericana" in Oct. 1991 when I shook hands with Dave Gilmour and Nick Mason and someone took our picture; and to Fish, when he performed before a little group of people at this cozy bar in the heart of Mexico City.

When Neil Peart lost his wife and daughter, he went to USA for a recollection trip and wrote a book about life. |

Andy Ward's serious hand injury was actually a wrist cut - he thought he couldn't handle his own alcoholism and manic depression, so he tried to end it all at once. Nowadays he's a session drummer, taking it easy, and of course, taking his medication. He's also got a web page. |
