.... any thoughts ?

I was thinking of replacing the humbuckers in my Tokai LP for Filtertrons. Getting a Pro Jet instead seems to be an equally valid course of action, and just upgrading the Tokai's humbuckers. Yes, more money, but.....

Anyone here got both guitars already ? What do you think of them, comparatively ?

If it's a vintage Tokai, then it should be fine. From what I've heard those instruments play really good so I don't see why you'd want to get the Gretsch. Especially considering the fact the Pro Jet has the Bigsby bridge, which is a PitA when it comes to changing your strings.

Hi Hyrchu, thanks for the reply !

You can get Pro Jets without a Bigsby on them. I've had Bigsby's before, great way of untuning your guitar (and also making it not fit in the case. ;-)

The main reason I was thinking of getting a Pro Jet was to have something with Filtertrons, rather than humbuckers. Of course, I can fit the Tokai with Filtertrons instead - Creamery Pickups make humbucker size Filtertrons.... "but why not just get another guitar ? " seems to be the question. ;-)

"Because my wife might kill me" seems to be the answer. ;-)
