Back in high school, I went to an overnight thing at my church where we were allowed to bring records to play. It should be noted that the Electric Light Orchestra - E L O - was very big at the time. Anyways, I brought Welcome Back, My Friends... and when it was my turn to choose something, I opened it up on the floor. This girl named Laurie saw E L P in big letters and said "Electric Light... Potato?"

Annoying as the comment was, I couldn't help but laugh, and from that point on, they were "Electric Light Potato" when discussing music with her. Eventually, I was able to convert her, just slightly, to the prog side. She liked "Pirates" a lot, and liked most of the Yes I played for her, including "Awaken", so that's not too bad. I didn't try to play things like "The Gates of Delirium" for her, though, which is probably a good thing.

Nice one. Probably would have made some good "headbanging" music?
