I posted this on facebook a few years ago and so I figured why not post it on here. Not all of these are perfect but I tried my best. I added one just for PA. Here is the original fb post: Let's play a game. I'll say the name of a made up band who's name is the opposite or almost the opposite(at least different) or maybe it just sounds kind of similar. You have to guess the name of the real band. Not all are prog bands(I had to throw in a few for my non prog friends on here). Here it goes: 1.Little little car 2.White Sunday 3.No 4.Hippopotamus 5.The trucks 6.The criminals 7.Me 1 8.Hedgehog weed 9.The What 10.Blind Tiger 11.The windows 12.The Tree Queens 13.Kirk's mustache 14.Queen magenta 15.King 16.The stationary bones 17.Hostile dwarf 18. Well, you don't have to be paranoid about it. I just didn't want someone to post all of the answers because then there would be nothing left for others to guess. Lol. I've seen it happen before and I've even been guilty of it in the past myself. How about if you just post the first four you know.

16 is the only one you didn't get right. A lot of people, including my mother, couldn't seem to figure out number 16 either and I admit it's not the best one. Lol. Also, it's easy to come up with stuff on my own but not so easy to figure out other peoples because everyone thinks in a different way. I actually tried to make mine as easy as possible without it being too obvious most of the time. Lol. As for your list, I've only come up with a few so far. 1. Van Der Graaf Generator (?) 2. Hawkwind 3. Captain Beyond (?) 7. Birth Control ? = I think that's what it is but not entirely sure.

The Jolly Reds are the same as my The Merry Jazz, ie. The Moody Blues. Find, Destroy, Raise = SBB (which comes from the Polish words of the same meaning). Mephistopheles = Faust. Morlock refers to Wells' The War of the Worlds... Can't figure out the band. Here's one: Suunfield. (Easy, I guess.)

Jean, Peter Sinfield is related to the person's name I'm after (and which needs to be transformed the same way to get the correct answer), whereas the band in question has not much* to do with King Crimson. I guess you don't know this band. * One of their albums was actually produced by Ian McDonald. |

Finally you solved Fruupp, Jean! It was logical and simple, right? Oh yes, naturally: Venus' Mother/ Aphrodite's Child is easy in hindsight. Still don't get Location (unless it's one of the many bands named after a geographical location, such as Boston). Canned Fish: Rainbow produces tuna. Correct? |
