Love the Bowie, but wouldn't vote as I haven't heard Burn. Maybe I'll check it out at some time.

Maybe because I listen to more obscure music. ;)

I can't say for sure I've never heard it, and listening to the title track I recognised it immediately. Radio maybe? I know earlier albums (especially like the pre In Rock ones). If I have listened to it, it may be over 40 years ago and my memory is not what it was even a few years ago. I will give it a go and see if it brings back memories. I think my memory for having heard music is still good at least, even if it has been 40 years.

Diamond Dogs by a long measure, one of my favorite Bowie albums. Burn has a great title song but the rest of the album is forgettable.

Listened to enough, I'm mistaken, I have heard it. My friend's brother had it in his collection and played it. And that would have been in about 1982. Takes a little jogging but I get there in the end. He had plenty of Purple. Good album but will vote Diamond Dogs.

Probably my favourite Deep Purple album.

Haven't listened to either of these albums in a very long time. My problem with most Deep Purple albums is that they're too uneven, whereas Bowie's albums are often too dense... Will give them a listen again before voting.

Deep Purple, no question, though Bowie is also excellent.

'Dogs burn Burn. Coverdale was a big let-down after Gillan.

Ooo, now that's an interesting comparison.

Burn is regarded as a classic; the one great DP album post 'Machine Head'
Diamond Dogs is regarded as a disappointment: the last dregs of DB's dystopian / glam period.

I prefer Diamond Dogs.  Most underrated Bowie album of the 70's.

Prefer Burn. It's not 1st division DP but DD is Bowies is one one of the two worst album's of the 70s for me.

It has to be Diamond Dogs. Maybe not one of my favourite Bowie albums, but still great. My favourite part is probably the "Sweet Thing/Candidate/Sweet Thing" suite.

Burn is a good album, especially the title track. However, I am not the biggest fan of David Coverdale, and the classic Mark II lineup still stands as my main preference.

When it comes to 70s Bowie I prefer it to Pin Ups and Young Americans, but that's it. The others are all so strong for me that this is hardly damning it.

Neither...? Voted Bowie because I don't really care for any Purple past Machine Head.

Cristi's question put this more in mind.

I should have asked before, but what is the other worst album you're thinking of? I'm not sure if you meant that it's one of the two worst Bowie albums of the 70s for you or one of the two worst albums of the 70s period (all albums you know included by anyone and everyone) for you. It reads like the latter to me, but I'm unsure of intent.

Just curious.

What's the other one?

The only two Bowie studio albums of the 70's I wouldn't bother with are 'Young Americans' and 'Pinups'. The former because I just don't like that style, the latter because it's just not very good.

Automatically thought of Pinups when I read the comment.

‘This ain’t rock n roll
This is genocide!’

Then again I vastly prefer Bowie to Purple. My fave is The Sweet Thing suite like my fellow Dane Anders mentioned. Love the whole feel of that suite...and well the overall gist and lyrical matters is some of the best I’ve heard inspired by 1984.

Hardest choices for me both albums are favourites but went with 'Diamond Dogs' by David Bowie
