We're nearing the end! This is the beginning of the second-to-last week of the first stage of Random Album Clash, which essentially means there are just six more years left to tackle.
As usual, vote and leave a comment, everyone knows the drill.
I am all 'Awake' on this one.

My top five from this list:

1. Downward Spiral
2. Flowermouth
3. Division Bell
4. Epilog
5. Promised Land

But the whole list is pretty good. Obviously, as is always the case, thee are other albums from this year I like more. But this is a quite nice selection.

The brilliance of Frank Zappa is head and shoulders above all the rest, despite some very great albums: I go for Civilization Phaze III.

What Do You Want From Me? Well, I could start by saying that it's good to see interest In Pink Floyd Coming Back to Life again, as I know how we like to Keep Talking about one of our favourite bands. I've noticed how featured Pink Floyd albums usually appear in a Cluster. One of my favourite Pink Floyd albums has always been The Division Bell, which is Poles Apart from my least favourite Pink Floyd album, Ummagumma. When The Division Bell was released in 1994, I had High Hopes for the album. it was also A Great Day for Freedom, as it marked the end of the apartheid regime in South Africa and the beginning of Nelson Mandela's premiership,  having spent 27 long years Marooned on Robben Island, which must have been very Wearing. The Inside Out of it is that I prefer The Division Bell over Dark Side of the Moon, which I know will probably leave you Lost For Words, but I can't Take It Back now. Wink

I like the Division Bell, but Trent blows it out of the water, and damns all those high hopes to hell.

On the subject of Trent, I've just been down by the water on the banks of the River Trent, but who on earth is Trent? Smile

Went for Floyd over brave.l just cant get a lot of love for brave and I bought it day of release. In fact it turned me off Marillion for a couple of years. I like Awaken and the flower king from this list as well.

Brave...

But The Division Bell is a lovely album too. Awake is ok but not one of DT's most memorable albums for me...

From the list voted Brave by Marillion

My album that year was "Hex" by Barek Psychosis, followed by Landberk "One Man Tells Another" and Collage "Moonshine"

Could they do it? Could Marillion equalize IQ's five wins.
Seems like neo-prog is a force to be reckoned with in the Random Album Clashes. Tongue

depends on the album.

I'm happy to see Brave getting some well deserved love in this poll. Tongue

Pink Floyd for me, Division Bell I think is quite underrated, even if still a bit of a patchy effort

Yeah, again, as I said on the other poll, regarding Yes’s Key Studio. Classic prog will always get the win, and in the absence of classic prog, then it will be neo-prog. I always think it would be more interesting if bands like IQ and Marillion were not included, as they do tend to run away with the win. But then again, if they were not included, you might not get a very large vote turnout at all. 😄🤪

also depends on the competition in the poll.
neo-prog is still one of the least favorite subgenres on PA, along with progressive metal.

When I think of 1994, I instantly think of Blues Traveler.

I agree with Cristi's point. Those two sub-genres seem to get the most flak here. But as the two major acts of the 80s prog scene, it is no wonder IQ and Marillion get so much good responses.

As for Nick's point, this has absolutely been well portrayed by some of the polls, I will give some examples:
-RAC 1974: 80 votes
-RAC 1979: 62 votes
-RAC 1976: 72 votes
-RAC 1978: 68 votes
-RAC 1972: 63 votes
-RAC 1975: 74 votes

And then:
-RAC 2019: 26 votes
-RAC 2000: 43 votes
-RAC 2017: 32 votes
-RAC 2016: 44 votes
-RAC 2002: 36 votes
-RAC 2011: 37 votes
-RAC 2006: 40 votes
