Second poll for the week will tackle 2016, another more recent year full of some good (and some not so good) albums. Enjoy!

*I will be voting 'Blackstar'*

An amazing album that still gets better with each listen. A modern prog genius Gem Godfrey is...

I didn’t even need to read the rest of the list, because nothing could possibly top Bowie’s album for this year.

I did, just to try and be fair, read the rest of the list before voting. But it’s definitely Bowie.

[EDIT] For the record there is a lot to love in this selection (a LOT!), so yeah, I’m giving pretty high praise to Bowie, but I honestly hold this final album of his in very high regard,

Nothing else comes close for me, but top of the next tier of albums for me would be Gojira, Gong, Opeth, and Stick Men.

I would've voted for Rick Wakeman's remake of  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Myths_and_Legends_of_King_Arthur_and_the_Knights_of_the_Round_Table" rel="nofollow - The Myths and Legends of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table  if it had been in the poll,

I'll vote for Gong here, really nice album, my personal pick would be another Kavus Torabi album, Knifeworld - Bottled Out Of Eden

From this list I would pick Opeth, followed by Bowie.

Opeth from this list. My favorites though from 2016 are BBT's Folklore, and Neal Morse's Similitude Of A Dream.

I’ll probably cop some flak for this, but it’s my favourite Gong album. I know a lot of people rebelled against the idea of Gong continuing, but I think they did a terrific job with this album.

It would probably have been my number one album from 2016, if not for Bowie. But Blackstar was already a terrific album, even before Bowie’s death imbued and revealed so much extra meaning to it.

I'm with you on this, 'Rejoice' is a truly fantastic Gong album!

I think Blackstar is amazing. No album would beat it.

I cannot possibly go with anything else than Blackstar. In the past five years it must be one of the album I've gone back to the most. I still cannot believe this is the way David Bowie departed.

I will give honorable mention to Gong's Rejoice I'm Dead though. Biggest surprise of 2016, Kavus Torabi made something new without losing the band spirit.

Can't help but notice that these two albums have a strong -I mean, hell, STRONG!- relationship to death. Curious coincidence.

As expected, 'Blackstar' is leading strongly.
