Two of the most highly rated albums of 2020 go head-to-head: Pendragon's 'Love Over Fear' and Wobbler's 'Dwellers of the Deep'. Which of these did you enjoy more, fellow progheads? I know that I can pick Pendragon's release without hesitation! *Gigantic album covers incoming*   |

Honestly, as times gone on I’ve found there are aspects of Dwellers that I find sort of disappointing. I think the two big songs end pretty anti climatically, and the big epic Merry Macabre just sort of misses the mark for me. Despite having a lot of really cool passages, the transitions feel very touch and go and it just doesn’t have the same smooth, silky and organic flow that some of their past epics had. There are lots of brilliant moments, especially on side one, and the production is near perfect. But sadly this album didn’t have a very lengthy life cycle in my general listening. Love Over Fear is a pleasant, melodic and mellow record, really good solos and good vibes. I’d still choose Wobbler though due to their music having a bit more grit, but ultimately mainly off the strength of the first two songs. ------------- The sun has left the sky... ...Now you can close your eyes |

Both albums are excellent and personally the vote could’ve gone to ever album. But didn’t let my heart rule my. LOF for me easily - my top album of 2020, especially with the acoustic and instrumental versions as well. I have tried with Wobbler - it's good but not really doing a lot for me.

Dire Straits .... kinda shows the folks here don't listen to albums at all ... sad ... but it was not part of the OP other than making a little fun of it! AND, I can't say I am familiar with the songs/albums listed at all ... and felt too lazy to go look ... I'm learning from PA fans, after all!!!
