Madonna in a prog poll. Now I've seen it all, I could die now...

1986 was a great year for rock and metal especially. I might make a poll myself.

Voted for Iron Maiden's Somewhere in Time.

are you defending the presence of Madonna in a prog poll?
whatever man... you're just disagreeing for the sake of it this time...

Some of my favourite 80's albums were from 1986. But not on this list, and not prog :)

More Love Songs - Loudon Wainwright III
King of America  &  Blood and Chocolate - Elvis Costello
Graceland - Paul Simon  (ok, this is a bit prog)

What Paul is saying is it doesn't actually say it's a prog poll, it clearly isn't from the list of artists, but then again it's in Prog Polls, so it needs to be moved.

So from the list, but the best album of 1986 was - by some way - The Seer by Big Country.
By coincidence, like So, this also features a duet with Kate Bush (on the title track).

Heatwave > Jazz from Hell > Depeche Mode
Talk Talk's Colour of Spring is the best of 1986 imho.

Yes, indeed! This is called 'Random Album Clash' and I wanted to make a little joke, don't take Madonna's presence too seriously!

Talk Talk - The Colour of Spring. Too bad it's not in this list.

This thread is more or less an illegal alien here: I would wonder what about half of this selection is doing here in the Prog Polls section, if 1986 was not a barren year for prog.

The Colour of Spring might have added some contest here. In this selection I prefer PG's solo output over Genesis, though Invisible Touch is not as poor as some may think.

So has In Your Eyes on it, and that's one of the greatest songs ever written.

Porg for short. My love of music doesn't end with prog! Feel free to discuss all sorts of music with me. Odds are I'll give it a chance if I haven't already! :)

I agree but I have to include every year from '65 to 2020, so... It is what it is!

Iron Maiden and Univers Zero stand out way above the rest for my tastes but some other favourites of mine not on the list would include: Fates Warning-Awaken The Guardian, Miriodor-Recontres, Shub Niggurath-Les Morts Vont Vite, Kontrast-Volume 1 and Dark's self titled debut.
