RAC #16, on a Wednesday, as usual! This week it's really random - 1991. A year full of everything in pop and rock music, let's see who will take this one, as I will cast the first vote for Primus.

Here are all the winners so far:
1970 - 'Lizard' by King Crimson
1992 - 'Hybris' by Anglagard
1985 - 'Misplaced Childhood' by Marillion
2019 - 'Resistance' by IQ
1968 - 'A Saucerful of Secrets' by Pink Floyd
1975 - 'Fish Out of Water' by Chris Squire
2000 - 'Lightbulb Sun' by Porcupine Tree
1982 - 'Signals' by Rush
1995 - 'THRAK' by King Crimson
2005 - 'Deadwing' by Porcupine Tree
1965 - 'Rubber Soul' by The Beatles
1980 - 'Permanent Waves' by Rush
1971 - 'Who's Next' by The Who
1969 - 'Stand Up' by Jethro Tull
2013 - 'English Electric Part Two' by Big Big Train

Really tough choice between Queen and Soundgarden for me. Rush release their worst album (just a decent pop rock record with a couple weird excursions), RHCP release their best (a strong contender for my 2nd or 3rd), Genesis try everything left in their somewhat exhausted arsenal on the totally OK We Can't Dance, Metallica become one of the most famous bands of all time on the back of pretty much a single riff, and the rest I haven't heard. Queen's my favorite band, so I'll give their swan song the edge over 1991's best grunge album.

Porg for short. My love of music doesn't end with prog! Feel free to discuss all sorts of music with me. Odds are I'll give it a chance if I haven't already! :)

Queen's Innuendo, which easily wins against the only other album I know in the poll: Genesis' We Can't Dance.

Death - Human
Michael Jackson - Dangerous
Mr. Bungle - ST

I love "Innuendo" but I think "Parallels" is a better album, especially in terms of prog.

Those were the two it came down to for me, as well. Nothing else in the list, for me, had as much impact, or gave as much enjoyment. But despite me preferring Queen to Soundgarden overall, I do think Badmotorfinger has the edge over Innuendo. I suspect I will be the only vote for that album, though... 😄

I heard that album for the first time a couple of months back and I was actually surprised with some really good melodies, maybe I should give it another spin!

Show Of Hands, although I think my actual favourite album from 1991 is probably Zappa's Make A Jazz Noise Here.

from the list Fates Warning "Parallels"

but my favorite album of that year its Talk Talk "Laughing Stock"

Another greast record and pioners of prog metal scene -  Sieges Even "A sense of Change"
The italians eris Pluvia "Rings Of Earthly Light"
The Debut of Magellan "Hour Of Restoration"
The comeback of Camel "Dust And Dreams"
The most accesible album by Voivod "Angel Rat"
The resurrection of Neo prog by Pendragon "The World" and Twelfth Night "The Collector Item"
Another great record and very important for the Psot Rock scene  Slint - "Spiderland"
If you like Tech Thrash and Watchtower, the band from Netherlands Osiris "Future and Human depressions"
ANother great record from Italy and if you like VDGG, The debut of Men Of Lake

Great year for prog

Same. And The Best Band You've Never Heard In Your Life. Though I suppose it was recorded on the last tour from '88. I love all the references to the US election at the time.

None of the above, actually. I cannot put the label "favourite" on any of these. So no vote this time.

I took FATES WARNING too over PT but for me it would be ECHOLYN's debut if it was here.

As paradoxical as it may sound, I also do not have a particular album here that I would firmly call a 'favorite' but I guess Primus' comes close... I was trying to really make it much more random than usual which resulted in ignoring a lot of prog. Tongue

I won't vote since I don't know most of these. However, holidays in eden is a very underrated album. Roll the bones is a bit underrated too. I also like blood sugar sex magic but haven't heard it in a while. For some reason Pearl Jam's ten isn't on the list.

Interestingly, Michael Jackson is the only one who is still voteless in one of the most random polls I have computed but just as I expected, 'Innuendo' is leading so far!
