Contemporaneity, synchronicity... or whatever.
The year 2002 saluted (and is still saluting) me with unmatched cultural productions, most of which are non-American. IDK why...
I mentioned, in another thread, some of them; which are below:
Abarat (Clive Barker's novel) - UK Neil Gaiman - Coraline - UK Zelenhgorm (PC game) - Sweden Neverwinter Nights (PC game) - France - Canada Irreversible (Movie) - France Dark Water (Movie) - Japan Malefique (Movie) - France 28 Days Later (Movie) - UK - Spain Cube 2 - Hypercube (Movie) - Canada Saens - Escaping from the Hands of God (Album) - France Luca Turilli - Prophet of the Last Eclipse (Album) - Italy Nightwish - Century Child (Album) - Finland Rhapsody - Power of the Dragonflame (Album) - Italy Visions of Atlantis - Eternal Endless Infinity (Album - Austria) Nocturnal Rites - Shadowland (Album) - Sweden Pagan's Mind - Celestial Entrance (Album) - Norway In the Labyrinth - Dryad (Album) - Sweden Arcturus - The Sham Mirrors (Album) - Norway Star One - Space Metal (Album) - The Netherlands Cradle of Filth - Live Bait for the Dead - (Live Album) - UK
I want to add the movie: Russkiy kovcheg (Russian Ark) among them. I recently watched it and it turned out to be one of my favourite movies ever.
Also these artworks served (and are still serving) as imaginary gateways to get away from the bitter reality of the year, for myself; precisely speaking, the most horrendous political period (which isn't over yet) commenced in 2002 in Turkey.
What about you?
