Just realised I never did this!

No doubt I can copy and paste my 'introduction to prog' story from a lot of others in their late 20s:

My dad.... Pink Floyd fan... listened as child... et cetera.

I eventually realised a few years ago that I was only really skimming the top of Prog, on a permanent cycle of Pink Floyd, Genesis, Yes, Rush, Porcupine Tree, Marillion and Dream Theater. Finally discovered this site earlier in the year - and having worked from home, regularly by myself all day with the other half has to work in a school, its been the perfect chance to listen to album after album after album of the wide world of prog.

Since June(ish) I've clocked up almost 500 albums across all the genres - although I have to say my tastes are generally in the mainstream (or as mainstream as prog gets) with the extreme ends of metal and avant being the most likely candidates for a 1 star review but I give anything a go. Has definitely made me realise there's so much 21st century prog offerings out there I'd never even heard of before digging my way through this site. Off the top of my head, some of the best albums I've picked up through this site having not listened to them previously (yeah I've been under a rock) are:

Phideaux - Doomsday Afternoon (and Snowtorch)
3RDegree - Ones and Zeros Vol.1
Ayreon - The Human Equation
Worm Ouroboros - Of things that never were

And from 2020:
Logos - Sadako e le mille gru di carta
Fren - Where do you Want Ghosts to Reside
IO Earth - Aura
