I don't vote for Marillion very often, but this time they deserve it.

-------------
I stand with Roger Waters, I stand with Joan Baez, I stand with Victor Jara, I stand with Woody Guthrie. Music is revolution

Rush. Power Windows is one of my all-time faves. The Jewel and The Wake are awesome, too. Many fine choices in this poll.

A very easy choice for me, Kate Bush’s Hounds of Love. I love that bushy hound.

It's nice to see a poll - other than my own - where I know at least half of the albums in the poll, and as for my vote, It's in the trees, It's coming..... Smile

Some interesting lp's there...but I am a big fan of all the earlier Dead Can Dance albums so Spleen it is.

If the Marillion wasn't there I would easily vote for the Kate Bush.

The second 'act' of Misplaced Childhood is brilliant but I think Kate Bush nailed the pop and prog mix perfectly so I voted for that. Seems strange for me not to vote for IQ - The Wake which is very important to me but not aged so well as a recording. The Wake Live is much better imo.

For a brief moment there, I hoped Tears for Fears might be on ProgArchives, but sadly not, although I'm not disappointed that Phil Collins isn't here on PA. Smile

I noticed Phil Collins is the only member of Genesis who isn't on PA as a solo artist, which is fine by me on Face Value. Smile

Kate Bush head and shoulders, although Tears for Fears and Dead Can Dance aren't bad at all.

I have to vote for Kate Bush. Hounds of Love holds some very special memories for me.

Seeing that list I have to say 1985 looks better than I remember it. A good year for Rush, Marillion & Tears for Fears. There's a few there I haven't heard (Supertramp & Fates Warning)

Have to say though, I never rally 'got' the Dire Straits mania at the time. Talented band. Somewhat boring to my ears though.

The Wake! But only by the tiniest smidgeon over Misplaced Childhood. TFF made a wonderful album too, and Afterburner was the first album that really told me I was a rock fan...
