I recently picked up a couple of the recent CD boxset re-releases of Dark Side of the Moog with Klaus Schulze at my local record store, and it’s gotten me back listening to Pete Namlook and my (small) collection of Namlook/FAX releases. I also realized that the anniversary of Pete Namlook’s passing was coming up - he passed away on November 8, 2012. So in addition to listening, I started writing. The first was a review here of Sultan, his collaboration with Burhan Ocal (I removed the diacritical markings because they wouldn’t reproduce properly). I also wrote a review of Dark Side of the Moog XI. At the same time, I was posting to my Instagram with some of my most interesting CDs. I finally decided to put some of this stuff on my blog. I think I’m done for the time being, though I still have stuff to write about. For now, I’ll post some links here.

Back in the mid-90s I sent Pete some tracks I made on an ADAT and he called me up and said I was a good producer
I'm pretty sure I have at least one review on this site for him. I did not know that he had passed away.

That's cool you interacted with him in that way!

I didn't hear that he had passed away until some years after the fact myself.
