It's a matter of preference whether you consider Voivod a prog metal band, or not. But if you are into prog metal you should check this out. One of their most accomplished efforts ever, a spinning mass of angular Crimson+Floyd+Motorhead awesomeness that transcends all their influences - like all good bands.

I really like VoiVodīs War And Pain - Angel Rat -albums, but in Outer Limits they turned a little bit boring, I lost my interest and havenīt listened any their albums after that. Not been very into metal last years, but maybe I try this someday...

I like Outer Limits actually. Their really early stuff is a bit too heavy for me. Once you get to Nothingface they really hit a stride. Negatron is a step backwards but Phobos is wonderful.

They are a totally unique band that's why I like them

I like every single album they released, no exception. The Wake is very good.

Just gave it my first listen. It's one of their best. Might challenge for #2 on my AOTY ballot. Needs several more listens.

Try PHOBOS. One of their best if not the BEST CD. Totally uncompromising, antihuman material; with a unique nooisy sound (especially drumms - Away had a experiment a lot with their tone).

I like Snake but on this album Forrest has recorded most amazing vocals in Voivod story, because their fit perfectly to extremely schizoid music.

This is one of this year's new releases I was most eager for. Absolutely not disappointed!

The damage that we do is just so powerfully strong we call it love

The damage that we do just goes on and on and on but not long enough.

Just heard the first official video release. Not bad. Voivod has been fairly hit and miss with me but this new one seems to be getting more praise than not.

Well, not yet listened that new one (my brother is visiting and heīs not liking metal at all, so I will listen it after he has left), so if I like it, I believe I will try some others too.

Have to say I like this new album, specially itīs really organic sounds. All the way itīs nearer to Dimension Hatröss or Nothingface than the Outer Limits. I believe I will also listen their other after Outer Limits albums.

A lot of broken rhytms, dissonances and guitars incorporating Dimension Hatross sound.

From the last albums the most similar in sound Killing Technology/Dimension/Nothingface era.

After first listenings it's very promising.

Yeah, it's a doozy. I get strong Nothingface vibes with some Dimension Hatross thrown in.

I just bought the album. I'm a fan. It's probably one of my favorite Voivod albums of all time actually. Right up there with Killing Technology and IMHO surpases Nothingface.
