Listens to  «Here Comes the Supernatural Anaesthetist» and trying to play the bass on it, one notice it doesnt follow the same metre as the melody, or i find them to go in different directions. I find i to be a very cool bass line, very gritty and stubborn.

Im not good with placing musical terms but this song strikes me to feature either a polymetric or counterpoint.

It's not really polymetric, although the rhythm and the melody stress different parts of the beats. The bass follows along with that recurring rhythm that starts off the song, which has a 3 + 3 + 2 beat pattern, although that's really just 2 bars of 4/4. The melodies seem to be in 4 beat phrases. Every once in a while, they put in an extra measure of 3/4 or something, or pickup to a measure on an offbeat, so that will through you off if you don't know all the variations - although the whole band plays those together, so it doesn't put anything out of sync or anything like that..
