As rough as it may be, I enjoy the frantic energy of the Rush debut.

Yes > Rush >>>> Genesis
Genesis has an average side 1 and an annoying side 2, a huge letdown since their previous work, Abacab, is a strong record.

Two random guys agreed to shake hands. Just Because. They felt like it, you know. It was an agreement of sorts...a random agreement.

Considering two bands' albums are their eponymous debuts, and one comes much further into the third band's career, I'll go with Genesis' for the first side alone.

I really, really like the self-titled Genesis. The other two are enjoyable, but I can't put them above the one from '83.

When it comes to the top bands on PA I never vote for Yes.
I sometimes vote for Genesis but if Tull or Rush are in the poll they will get my vote.
This time it is Rush.

If the vote is for listening, then Rush.

If its for distance of a rage induced toss, Genesis.

ELP - ELP!

At least Rush's debut doesn't have that drummer on it!

Had to go with Genesis for this only, only because it spent more time on my turntable than the other two.

I like all three and voted for Yes.  It has an exciting and fresh sound to it, original.  Well crafted yet also indicating directions for further growth.  Rush had not come into their own yet and sounded much like many other bands at the time, although again, there were indications of further growth.  Genesis was created by veterans and it is a well produced album, professional through and through, perhaps my favorite of the Collins pop era, and thus does not have the freshness I find in the others.

This is probably the only time in prog history I voted for Rush over Yes or Genesis.

I like all three but Yes has the Squire/Bruford rhythm section.
Enough said.
