I'm working on a vocal recording and I need to erase or at least hide a bit the voice of one song (is in FLAC); it's very rare so it can´t be found as a "karaoke version" on the web. I tried the Audacity solution but doesn´t work for me, sounds kind of messy.

I was wondering if is there any sound engineer here who could help me using professional software.

Never tried the Audacity trick, but I think that may be as good as you can get it.

Are you considering making a karaoke track, by the way ? - that'd be a commercial project and stripping the vocals out would be an attempt to get around copyright. That'd be a good way of getting in legal trouble quickly. Better to just do your own version of the song.
