It struck me today that the landing page looks pretty archaic and (may I say it?): ugly and could do with a bit of work. I realised that I'm so used to it after many years that it never struck me until today, but to anyone new to the site it looks fairly uninviting. What you get is an excellent banner at the top and the site sections (which are both good and useful), but apart from that you have a few blocks of writing that look chaotic at first, and several adverts. To see something interesting you have to start scrolling. It's not up to today's standards, I find, and I can imagine that this could turn a lot of browsing newcomers off. No offense, just thought I'd mention it.

I'm an "if it ain't broke don't fix it" kind of a guy. The only time I go to the main page is to select something from the "site sections" and I never notice what's below that. There doesn't seem to be a shortage of newcomers here either. But, if a change is eventually made it won't bother me.

I rather like our front page.
Sometimes, chasing what is trendy in design just makes you look like everybody else. Our page, despite the ads that I loathe, is cool I think.
Then again, in the world of commercial/retail architecture in the US, I prefer an 1890s brick building with stone gargoyles to the sh*t they are building now. So I'm not one to ask

^ Could be upgrades, or maybe M@X took npjnpj's suggestion to heart. I tend to agree the front page is a little dated and could use a makeover, maybe something a bit more grown up (?) .

Off topic, but as wu said, there is something wrong for the last few days. Only 1/3rd of the page is loading, I can't scroll down, albums don't appear with stars and then something is wrong with the main page, it appears all white with just the banner in the middle.

I saw M@X online earlier, to me that spells upgrades. I wouldn't worry about it unless it's still like this on Sunday.

I'm not fond of following every new look & feel trend concerning websites, but the startpage is somewhat outdated for sure. I would have packed the sub-genres and artists (not necessarily popular artists) into a particular pulldown for example, technically not a challenge to implement. Will save some space anyway and make it better on portable devices ...

There is definitely a shortage of Rickenbacker basses and mellotrons on the frontpage. We could of course also go in another direction altogether and make it more in-your-face and prog. Why not implement Guru Guru's Hinten cover? An arse always leads to better seating.

At least he took out the extra AD that had been placed after the first review. That was really obnoxious.

I wholeheartedly agree, but then again, I am terribly allergic to ads. They ruin the city and it's architectural design. They slice up movies - hacksaw style. Advertising, in general, means as much to me as the delightful little plastic condom most of my cds come wrapped in.

I like this home page (and forum) way more than JMA or MMA.

I think we should get rid of the top menu and all of the text and replace them with huge randomly placed images to better suit mobile devices and cripple the user. This is 2015 folks, get on with the times.

Let Atavachron design the entire thing and call it a day.

| They do have the artist search with auto-complete though, this is very useful and there probably would be no need for alphabetical search. I also wonder if anyone looks at the popular artists and Prog shopping, maybe it could replace Arjen It would certainly look much less crowded.
