Well, I figured that album was (somewhat understandably) condemned around here.  Sure, I like some of the songs, but I'm also not as old and jaded about post-Drama Yes as most of the people around here. :P

The revealing science of God (with The Remembering not too far behind)

The opener is, for me, the only one that is excellent from start to finish - the others have moments of excellence but flat bits too.

"The Revealing"? Sounds like a bad movie title: The Revealing: The Journey Home.

Sort of the same for me but it is between side one and two---lately been really into side two listening to it every other day----so confused but the opening of side one is a sublime prog moment---so side one.

The Revealing Science of God for me, easily. Though you might just as well have forgotten about the "R" thing and done the poll about the songs on the whole Topographic Oceans (still my choice would have been Revealing Science).

I was a sophomore in high school when I excitedly brought home "Tales From Topographic Oceans" and put Disc One, Side One on my turntable. Still blown away by "Close to the Edge" the previous year, I was hoping for the best and half-fearing for the worst. I got both.
I think "Revealing Science of God" and "Close to the Edge" are the best songs Yes ever did. I find the rest of "Tales" to be rather boring and uninspired, although each song (particularly "Ritual") has some great moments. But only "Revealing Science" is great all the way through. It used to be the song I'd use to show off my stereo.
So as you've by now guessed, "Revealing Science of God" gets my vote.

I think Tales is a masterpiece---not note for note perfect like all of CTTE---but you don't have to be perfect to be a masterpiece---funny the only side of Tales I find rambling is Ritual--while there are gorgeous guitar pieces in the opening and closing of the the side ---but Jon's rambling on in the middle gets to me lol
the part--"as clearer companions shall ....till we sail...and I will be there..." that part. When I think of Tales and rambling I think of that. Plus the live version with Moraz of drum ritual  part is sublime---the recorded version is okay.

I'm not a big fan of The Ancient (aside from the beautiful acoustic section, the last 6 minutes of the song, which are fantastic), but other than that Tales is a very good album. Not as great as Yes' three previous efforts I might add, though.

So I do certainly like those three songs and my favorite is The Remembering, probably in my TOP 7 Yes songs of all time.

The Revealing followed by The Remembering. I think Ritual is the "worst" song in the TFTO (if you can call a TFTO song "worst",that is).

Two random guys agreed to shake hands. Just Because. They felt like it, you know. It was an agreement of sorts...a random agreement.

apparently not. We can comfort ourselves with the thought that only the most discerning minority on PA know what the true best track on TFTO is.

I just thought it would win this and I agree with that, more for the banter actually but I assume you got that.
Anyway what is the best according to you? The Ancient?

Sorry, I read your post as The Remembering rather than the Revealing.  That will teach me not to type before my first cup of tea.  I do agree the Revealing was going to win, however I prefer the Remembering.
