I'm going with the Rascals for time period  reasons.
When I think of that song I can remember my girlfriend and I in my VW heading for the beach.
Good times for sure.

Some horrible songs here, and you haven't even got James Blunt!
Voted for U2

No mention of Gordon Lightfoot's Beautiful?  Or Melanie's Beautiful People? I demand a recount.

U2, but only under protest.

Not really a fan of any of these, so I'll go with 311.

Great songwriter indeed, 'Gord's Gold' is one of the few cd's I own that never leaves the car.

Yeah but it could have been "A fantastic and admirable woman of exquisite refinement", had you said "Gentle Giant is one of my favorite driving while singing along band" instead of ol' Gord.

You are unlikely to hear me say that so I will settle for being a woman of great taste.

I know enough to quit when I'm ahead.

Never try to deceive someone about your musical tastes is my motto.  You will either be caught out quickly or spend your life listening to music you hate. Neither is a good prospect.

cledussnow, could you please make these polls in the General Music Discussions forum, which is meant to "Discuss and create polls about all types of music"? This section is intended for non-music discussions and polls.

Looking at my iPod, which doesn't have most of my music collection, the only song I see that start with beautiful are Henry Cow's "Beautiful as the Moon - Terrible as an Army With Banners" and Herbe rouge's "Beautiful Green Forest".

I can't vote for any on the list, but "Beautiful as the Moon - Terrible as an Army With Banners" has been one of my all-time favourite songs.

Like Herbe Rouge's too.

I searched my digital library for the word 'beautiful' and these are my results:

Echolyn - The End is Beautiful
John Lennon - Beautiful Boy
Paatos - There Are Beautiful
Pendragon - Beautiful Soul
Porcupine Tree - Not Beautiful Anymore
Porcupine Tree - The Start of Something Beautiful
Os Mutantes - To Make It Beautiful

... so no vote from me!
