'Walk Away Renee' was originally written and recorded by The Left Banke......the best version imho and a great pop rock band that also did Pretty Ballerina.

You're making me choose between two of my favourite songs - Van Halen and The Beatles. Cry
I'm going to go for VH seeing as they don't have any votes yet.

Ah, now I've read the OP properly Embarrassed I can vote for The Beatles, Macca and the Moodies as well. I have had all those songs on my MP3 player at some point.

I've never owned an ipod but I selected The Beatles and John Mayall (with a very young Eric Clapton).

Missing:

One Day I'll Fly Away - Randy Crawford
Laugh and Walk Away - The Shirts

Never mind. Even if these were included, I would still give my vote to The Beatles.

Yep, that's another vote for the Chili Pepper's `Give It Away'.

I still have vivid, traumatizing memories of playing it in my room as a teenager and my Dad coming into the room dancing in the most wonky, uncoolest bopping fashion to it!

Cue a horrified `Dad, that is SOOOOO uncool!!' reaction from me!

Heh, now I find it kind of surreal and brilliant...and thinking back, his moves were actually far better than I gave him credit for at the time!

^ Why is it so normal to hate seeing our parents sing or dance? Tongue

I voted for Offspring, it's not one of my favourite Punk bands but I used to listen to them.

Great tune, but it appears on the "Coming" disc, so not listed here as I try not to duplicate songs.
