Four selections by an unassuming band that are more progressive than one might expect! Tongue

"Gimme Gimme Shock Treatment" wows its listeners with its frequent time signature changes, with the opening riff alternating between bars of 4/4 and 2/4, leading to some head-spinning rhythmic patterns that compete among Bruford's busiest works.

"I Just Want To Have Something To Do" shows off the virtuoso splendor that was the Ramones at their peak. Listen at the end for some blistering guitar soloing over top of Johnny Ramone's typical power chord strumming.

As we all know, prog has had its fair share of excess. And the Ramones weren't so innocent either. Take "Bye Bye Baby" for example, an overtly lengthy song that would make Rick Wakeman or Keith Emerson blush, clocking in at over 4 and a half minutes!

And what's more signature "prog" than an instrumental? The Ramones released one, "Durango 95", that could rank among the classics like "YYZ", "The Snow Goose" or "Mood For A Day".

Take your pick for the Ramones' best showcase of prog!
