Add your own progressive poetry! Here's one o'mine:
Neo and RIO
Neo and RIO, never the twain shall meet, If they'd do, they'd only meet and greet. They are like ships in the night, fearing each other's existence with stage fright.
Neo and RIO don't like each others guts. They find each other either boring or nuts.
Neo and RIO are at each other's throat, if the switchback crosses the old road.
Neo and RIO, they don't mingle, they don't mix, They don't rock the bed with unprotected six. If they'd intercourt as in Wessex and Essex, they'd have offspring like the Cardiacs
Neo and RIO, have they ever really met? Instead, that is, inside my own head? The hemispheres of my brain are drifting apart, one is synthesized, the other is smart. One is rollin' with Nolan, in search of jewels, the other's fighting slappy happy harmonic duels.
Looking at my music collection, the cd's are about to lose connection. I look to them and say: "That's it. From now on the ends are split."
For neo and RIO, never the twain shall meet, and if they do, they only meet and greet.

Thank you, that made my day Marcel! Absolutely hysterical.

awesome!!! I definitely see a future Micky-sig in those verses.
Back in the day.. I would used those as lyrics for one of my songs

| Thanks Once I found out neo and RIO were rhyming words, yet so far apart from each other musically speaking, my imagination went wild
You've been a singer then? Frontman? Of a prog band?

oh no... bassist/singer of a band for a couple of years in college. Mainly rock covers with a few homebrews mixed in. Prog didn't get you chicks and free beer.. not in Oklahoma it didn't
I did write a few songs though. NOthing good... thus I would have stolen your stuff and claimed it as mine

Don't even think about it. I did law school, have a master degree.
Have been in church bands myself, playing synth. It was actually fun, played with good guitar players and a saxophone player, and some great percussionists. Nobody was too much interested in prog, alas.

You should have been there when I was a teenager, in the mid-Seventies. Qute a few of the people who played in my church group were also in prog bands, and a couple of them still are.

Banned. Sent away to a parish in Northern Alaska. They deliver prog cd's there? Please don't wake the walruses, mr. postman. They are very touchy these days. Just throw the prog cd's over their heads, I'll catch them. Right, then de-frost the cd-player.
In reality I'm protestant BTW. Which means: no bishop, happily married, kid. It was all Sean Trane's fault with his bishop's jokes. I started to get the hang of it

Been there, done that... NOT! Though for my bachelor party, before I married, my friends let me do strange things, walking around with a foxes tail and a horeman's cap in a bar, reading poetry to perfect strangers, making a move towards the bar lady etcetera.

Lucky you, with such an inspiring atmosphere! But then again, I suppose this was in Italy, this golden country of prog.

All day long. They have never heard of Rihanna, Bruno Mars etc. Actually, we have a killer radio station in Belgium, from the French speaking part, called Classic 21. I remember going shopping and my car radio played Close To The Edge, just at mid day. I remember coming back from a meeting some night and out of my car radio came "Spartacus" by Triumvirat. Very good radio station

Strangely, when trying to "compose" (in my head) a tune for these lyrics, I couldn't help having some reminiscences of the Penguin Cafe Orchestra. Mmmm... I should listen to more Pendragon, I guess.
