Wow! Just listened to Devin Townsend's Ocean Machine... twice and just about to run it again. Wonderful melodies fighting with a wall of heavy symphonic sound. I mean heavy AND symphonic. This is a sound like known I have heard. There is power and beauty in this recording. This is my first taste of townsend and I am blown away! |

Accelerateed Evolution is actually my favorite. I own all of his 'solo' albums, all the Strapping Young Lad, and pretty much anything else he has ever done. If you like the heavy side of his music, check out Strapping Young Lad. The Albums Alien, City and Heavy As A Really Heavy Thing are my favorites. Also, if you don't have Ayreon The Human Equation, GET IT!!! Hevy Devy does the voice of 'Rage', and puts out one of the best vocal preformances in years. Heck that whole album in nothing but a vocalists dream! When you have the vocalists of Dream Theater, Opeth, Dead Soul Tribe, Strapping Young Lad, Shadow Gallery, Saviour Machine, The Quills and other bands team up, wow!!!
Anyway, glad you found Devin, one of the best musicans out there today. ------------- The good cop and the bad cop left for the day. I'm a different kind of cop. |
