I found myself wondering how old ProgArchives is. I tried Wikipaedia, but there is no ProgArchives page there.

Beyond birth date, t would be nice to learn how it all started and it got to where it is today. Hss anything of the like ever been written?

Thanks.

^ there may be something wrong with a couple of links in that thread. Some of them do not seem to go anywhere, while one forced my most vigilant Trend Micro Platinum into "Virus Alert". Sometimes it's not a good idea to delve into the past; all kinds of evil creatures hide there.

hah...figures... if I know Ivan and our crack team of PA's attorney's.. he's going through my chapter drawing mustaches on all of my pictures and putting devil's horns on me while he holds it up on some technicality. Probably even photshopping a Genesis T-shirt on that picture I added on page 68 of the PDF with me wearing my RATT T-shirt!

Embarrassed

did we hijack the hell out of this dude's thread?

yeah.  I guess we did. Then again, that is page 122 in the book (also in my chapter).

Thread hijacking is an art at ProgArchives...practiced by many...perfected by the select few.

ProgArchives sprang fully formed out of Moshkito's head, but, as often happens, the father rejected the offspring when he decided it wasn't literary enough, liked solos in music, and hated 1950s Italian neorealist films.

the real start was early 2004 (you won't find reviews older than that, I believe).... At least that's when the floodgates were forced wide open in the forum and hordes of eager progheads were willing to add bands quicker than the eye could watch and count... Tongue

Alternate punchline:

Sounds like that could have made a great fourth verse for "Lucky Man".

Jeez, going off topic a bit but that video is something else. The assistant must have been either stupidly brave or drugged to do that.

We have actually seen here (Threefates) a few times, both at NEARfest and at NJ Proghouse concerts, as she lives in the New Jersey/NYC region. Though we have quite a few mutual acquaintances, though, I have never spoken with her, nor do I feel inclined to.
