Ian Anderson played live at Palais Theatre It was a great show with an ageing audience. The set list was great with a full rendition of TAAB side 1. He incorporated videos and some humour. A younger guy with a mop and janitor character sung some of the higher parts of songs. End of Locomotive Breath Highlights include lead break of Aqualung, TAAB, living in past, Bouree, Teacher and Songs from the Wood I really enjoyed the show and glad I went to savour a part if prog history. Andersonville flute playing was awesome and he still stands on one leg. Lighting was standard but effectively colourful. -------------

I agree completely, it was great. I would even say it was better than when Jethro Tull came a few years prior. The setlist felt improved - All of TAAB part 1 this time, some good new stuff, and even a bit of A Passion Play (!) which caught me off guard. I also think the presence of the younger singer was an excellent move. Great show! |
