Tales and BSS smoke all of those with exception of Floyd.. but typical of the mindless fanboyism we have had here for years.. I mean.. hahaha... what the HELL do you all listen to this music for.
Two of the greatest prog albums ever made.. and get the least votes. I'll have what you f**kers are smoking hah...

Not my favorite Jethro Tull-album, but I can't vote for the others. I just don't like the other albums. Alhough Dark Side of the Moon is a great album, it sounds rather bland and boring to me. Classic dad-rock.

^Well, I don´t at least many dad-rock listeners can accept the experimental On the Run. Or bells in the begin of Time. Also Great Gig would be too much to them.

Still. Although I really like Pink Floyd (Animals is my favorite), many of their albums sound really middle-of-the road. And mostly I put them in the same category as The Eagles, Boston, Dire Straits, etc. Maybe it's the straight forward rock-approach, the bluesy (extended) guitarsolos.
Don't get me wrong, I like Pink Floyd. But I would choose Jethro Tull over Pink Floyd anytime of the day. Jehtro Tull released at least 15 stellar albums, Pink Floyd maybe three.
But to keep the original purpose of this poll: the chosen albums of all the other artists, I have played them all, and liked neither of them. Even Passion Play is my least favorite Tull-album. Maybe 1973 was too self-indulgent for these bands. Apparently they all released their worst albums.

^I guess you have listened also their pre-dark side era? I love also Jethro Tull, but Floyd has always been bigger to me. I can put Floyd´s eighties-nineties albums into same category as Eagles etc. but not really their sixties and seventies albums.

About 1973 I also think 1970 and 1971 were much better years for many bands.

^ I think I'm not that into the kind of pysch-rock that Pink Floyd produced in the early days.
I have listened to it, but I guess I'm more a fan of melodic symphonic rock like Animals and Wish You Were Here. As an example: I think Eloy are way better (sans the leadguitar and leadvocals) than Pink Floyd. The synths, bass and drums are superior in Eloy than Pink Floyd. I think Pink Floyd has the most boring drummer in history of rockmusic. But I'm not here to bash music by bands I'm not into. I just like a few albums by Pink Floyd, Yes and Genesis, and I absolutely adore Jethro Tull.

^Mason is of course no Bruford, but I really like´s playing. Also, if you´re symphonic prog fan and not listened Atom Heart Mother and Meddle (Echoes), you really should. Not listened much Eloy, but what I´ve heard that has sounded much more boring than Floyd to me.

That's how musical taste works hahahaha I can't deal with boring drumming, and others can't deal with annoying singers.
Most dislike Eloy because of the accent of Frank Bornemann.
But Jürgen Rosenthal's drumming is otherworldy.
And believe me, I listened to all the Pink Floyd-albums. It didn't hurt and it didn't traumatize me, but it also didn't make me dance, smile, sing along, groove along, dream along etc. Except for Animals wich is one of the greatest albums ever made.

^Really like Jürgen´s drumming in Scorpions Fly to the Rainbow! Floyd hasn´t ever caused me such reactions you described. When I first time heard the Piper at the Gates of Dawn, I really didn´t understand what it was. It was kind of shock to me, but in some years turned to really positive experience!

I like weird music. Music that makes me go 'what the hell is this?', but do I love it? Do I constantly play it? Not really.
I am more interested in melodic and symphonic music for enjoyment. All the experimentalism is musical art, and I do have respect for it and love to hear what some are up to, but it when it comes to enjoying music, I'd rather play what really moves me. And Jehtro Tull continues to move me, even though Passion Play is their worst, hahaha.
Sometimes bands/music move me, that are really simple, middle-of-the-road like Al Stewart and a-ha. And sometime complex music moves me like Gentle Giant or Wobbler or Kraan.
Recently I got all excited about Gösta Berlings Saga for instance. But I could never get into the whole Tool-thing. It's still all a matter of taste and listening-experience.
