^ People usually look to the "classic trinity": Mirage, Music Inspired by "The Snow Goose", and Moonmadness. Some even count in their debut (the early days) and Rajaz (the latter days). Their rather poppy effort Breathless is my personal favorite, though. Tastes can be quite tricky. |
I also enjoy the short tracks from "Dust and Dreams" and "Nude", and you? | I haven't heard those.

Camel - Landscapes (Nude) is the first Camel song that i happened to know, it was the "curtain" of a Radio Program which i listened to sometimes in the final of 80's, this melancholic song is special for me, it indeed consolated me sometimes... a kind of song not common in the Prog Rock world.

I feel like Mirage is far and away Camel's best album and I don't understand why people prefer Moonmadness, or Snow Goose for that matter.

I give the lead to Moonmadness! Although Lady Fantasy is my favorite Camel song.

As a matter of fact, Lady Fantasy may just as well be the song that make me prefer "Mirage"... and "The White Rider" too, in a lesser degree. The thing is, apart from those two songs, both albums seem just about equally brilliant to me, but it is those two songs that put Mirage a step ahead.

For me, as an overall I like Moonmadness a little more. Air Born, Song Within A Song, Lunar Sea, can't vote against them, even if I really like Lady Fantasy.

I enjoy original tracks, and Camel has this plus, i would include Aristillus as a nice original one.
