^This was an easy pick for me, John, the Wallenstein, Cosmic Century is a five star effort, and one of the band's best. Keyboardist Jurgen Dollase is both under-rated and a brilliant musician. His playing sometimes reminds me of Jurgen Fritz, and you can tell he has had classical music training.

I just saw your reviews on both Wallenstein albums that i have so i figured this would be your vote Doug.Big smile
Oh i forgot Dollase was the keyboardist, isn't he part of The Cosmic Jokers and some other Krautrock side projects. And he's not an after-thought on these either.

Hi, John, yeah, he was in The Cosmic Jokers along with Klaus Schultze, man, their first album is something! In some other projects at the same time, some I've heard, and some not. I have him in Walpurgis -Queen of Saba which is very good, though flirts with the mainstream some. I also have him with Sergiu Golowin, -Lord Krishna von Goloka which has spoken word in it, not so great.

Jurgen Dollase was also in a highly rated album called Tarot by i think it's Walter Wegmuller. Never heard it, though.

I'll vote for Led Circus. I only know two (this one and Xhol Caravan) and I like this one better.

OK this time I know only two, so my vote goes to Octopus which currently have no votes. Every time I listen to their debut I'm amazed how good it is and how much I like it. Excellent guitar throughout and some cool arrangements and ideas, I even like Jennifer Hensel's accented vocals.

I have only their debut, Do you know their second album John?

In my opinion the second one is a step down from the first in every way. Some seem to really like it but for me it's a low 3 stars. Thanks for your opinions on the debut as well.Smile

Before we move on to the second poll tonight i just wanted to say something about Nik Turner's(Hawkwind) solo album "Xitintoday". It was recorded in Egypt in the Great pyramid.Shocked  Nik was fortunate enough to befriend the guy(shiek) who looks after the pyramid who actually closed it down for 3 hours so Nik could record his flute in various places within the pyramid. The shiek who looks after it helped out with percussion sounds while later Nik would get members of Gong and Hawkwind to fill out the sound. Now a lot of this is just flute and percussion but it's such a unique circumstance that i feel honoured to own this. Nik would quote the Book Of The Dead often and this book is also called the Book Of Coming Forth By Day or Exit Into Day which is where he got the title from for this record.

^ That is an awesome story. Had no idea that was the circumstances. More things should be recorded inside pyramids.

Apparently when Nik toured the pyramid he played his flute playing in various places inside the pyramid and he couldn't get over how good it sounded in there. He stayed in a cheap motel nearby and befriended some locals as well as the shiek who ran the pyramid. With Nik's knowledge of Egyptology i'm sure he impressed the these locals. But yeah it's a great story.

Anyway, I knew that story about Xitintoday, but I always love reading it back. One of your best sides John is your storytelling selfSax man

Mjeah well maybeLOL I am a very hot man, always have been. The sort of lava person that fogs up the car, whenever the weather changes for the colder. So I do love it, when I am able to run around without a t-shirt. Not that keen on strutting around like one of those wannabe Tarzans on steroids thoughDead
