Topic: Comments to reviews Posted: February 17 2012 at 04:56 |
Unfortunately this thread http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=58066&KW=comments+to+reviews&PID=3249843#3249843 is closed, so I have to start a new one.
No argue, the possibility to send a comment to any review is a good feature. The only problem is that some PA members write reviews, but never read PMs, because they don't visit the forum. I don't know how it could be solved. Any ideas?

It's a valid point certainly but ain't it their choice NOT to visit the forum. They can't have it both ways I guess?

This review gave me the idea for the topic:
This is an excellent sampler of Tyrannosaurus Rex, comprising the most important album tracks as well as all ( ! ) single A/B's and non-album tracks that have been released officially during Marc Bolan's lifetime As far as I know the "Sequel"-Label does not exist any more, but watch if you can get this - it serves well as both, an impressive overview and introduction to the pre-T.Rex-Era as well as a collector's gem for those who already have the 4 Original Albums of Tyrannosaurus Rex ! Honestly said: There's only one of my favourite tracks missing - "Nijinski Hind" from the "Unicorn"-Album, and - perhaps - the "Demon Queen"-out-take from the sessions to "Unicorn". No fillers. Absolutely great psychedelic folk-stuff with "Once upon the Seas of Abyssinia", "Chariots of Silk", "Iscariot", "Great Horse" & "Lofty Skies" as my personal outstanding cream-cuts ! If you get the chance don't miss it. It's a perfect compilation. ( Sorry, I didn't erase the "Track Title"-examples and could not edit my submission afterwards )
Well, he visits the forum, I PMd him and hope he'll delete these unnecessary lines. (I also edited the album info). But I have some unread messages in my Outbox pointed at obvious errors like reviewing DVD on CD page, Bardens singing on 1993 Camel live album etc. Errors don't look like reasons to report reviews, but what is the other way to correct them?

I think there is a facility to email a member too. Their email address is not shown in their profile, but there is an option which sends a message vai the site to the email address they used to register. Might be helpful in situation such as the one you mention.

Bob, as I understand, it works only if the member shows email in
his/her profile. Otherwise the only way is PM.
Though the whole thing is not the biggest PA problem.

I wish the comments would be open to all, not just PMs.
F.ex. links attached to the permanent link of a review, also revealing the commentator. |

Mark,
If you wish to contribute a more detailed bio to your page, you can post it here and we'll take care of it for you. Also, if you can contribute a band photo it would be very much appreciated. |

The band photo i'm sorry i do not have but here is how i fitted into mantis. I auditioned for the band in toronto and passed the test i guess I was 19 at the time so from there i was being flown out to montreal to practice with the band before recording songs at RCA studios in toronto which at that time was on mutual street. We also used moe koffman and guido bassa for our orchastrated parts and martain swerdlow conducted the orchastra with his musical stick just like any big time conducter does. We played a few gigs in montreal and toronto and then broke up and i never seen the guys again. I went on to do other projects but not prog.
