seriously, if you like Pink Floyd, I would suggest you try Porcupine Tree & Pineapple Thief

(I'm not much of an authority on either, but I would suggest Lightbulb Sun & 10 Stories Down, respectively...)

happy hunting, and tell us all what you discover...

Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson

I THINK YOU SHOULD SPEND YOUR MONEY FOR MORE THAN ONE BAND. CHOOSE THE BEST FROM AS MANY AS YOU CAN.

ITS A GOOD THINK TO HAVE A VARIETY OF LPS. AFTER ALL IN PROGRESSIVE RARELY A BAND SOUND LIKE ANOTHER

There is only one you should get into, Sir Millard Mulch.  Yeah, I know everyone is telling you about all of their other groups, but think about how cool you'll be when you say, "That's right, I listen to Sir Millard Mulch." and everyone else doesn't know who he is and wants you to enlighten them.  You can go to his website and listen to a 10 minute sample from his latest album "How to Sell the Whole F#@!ing Universe to Everybody...Once and for all!"  Plus, there are several guests on the album like Virgil Donati (Steve Vai, Planet X), Dave Meros (Spock's Beard), Morgan Agren (Frank Zappa, Dweezil Zappa) and Nils Frykdahl (Sleepytime Gorilla Museum, Idiot Flesh) who make the album even more spiffier.  Also, the song titles are some of the best to be had in a long long time.  How could you not want to listen to something called "How to Pretend You're Stupid Like Everyone Else so you can Become Gainfully Employed and Enjoy Your Limited Time on this f**king Useless Planet in just Five-Zillion Easy Steps!" ?  Not to mention the fact that it's a triple disc album with 4 hours of material on it for only $20.  Come on, you know you're tempted.

Why, you should get into Specimen 37, of course.
