Hello prog fans! I've been a serious fan of prog rock for about a year and a half now...but I've been a metalhead for about 8 years so. So being quite aware of metal's past and present throughout these years, I've been a long time fan of the prog greats such as Opeth, Cynic, Atheist, Atrocity (old), Dream Theater, Enslaved etc. My top prog rock bands I'd say are Camel, Emerson Lake and Palmer and King Crimson. I basically enjoy anything that pleases my ears...just ordered some Coldplay and Godspeed! you black emperor the other week...but my love for music is predominantly in the ambitious prog/psychedelic 70s type rock and death/black metal. If anyone has a band or type of music and/or sound that in their opinion, is completey interesting and ambitious just hit me up or something. I love discussion of this kind of music...and I'm as a new member I'm assuming this forum is more mature than the other forums across the internet. Some of the other forums just bore me with all the sh*talking behind a computer. Have a great night y'all! Chris |

Hi dreadfull, welcome along.
My advise is to dive right into the unknown territorie, and see if you like it. Magma click the link, download the music (especially Kobaia, and Da zeuhl wortz mekanik), and listen to it real loud for a couple of times, and maybe you'll like it, and maybe you don't. read the reviews, but don't let them scare you, for after a couple of listenings it is really accesible music. |
