This is a fantastic website and I've learned quite a bit about progressive music.  There is, however, an incorrect genre attribution at:
http://www.progarchives.com/subgenre.asp?style=43

The band Pestilence should be labeled "Death metal" not "Black."  See, for example:

Yep, you are correct. We do call them Deatrh Metal in their biography: www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=3244

yep, and Atheist is not THRASH but DEATH...
Similarly, Cynic is not THRASH but DEATH.

And I would add "grindcore" in this list : "extreme metal genres (Thrash Metal, Death Metal, Black Metal)" cf bands like carnival in coal, iwrestledabearonce, the locust, cephalic carnage...

and there are also hardcore/metalcore bands (crowpath, the dillinger escape plan, ion dissonance, psyopus, yakuza [wrongly tagged as post/exp], neurosis, cave in, naked city...)

"Magma was the very first gothic rock band" (Didier Lockwood)
