Now there's something that's in no way related to music... or am I being a little harsh?

I was chatting with Jonas Reingold of the Flower Kings on the Website of a radiostation while the contest was running, we made some fun about it because we both watched it in the background while chatting..that was fun

Not related to music in any way !!!!!!!!

Taste should somehow be related to intelligence, thatīs why stupidity should be painful !!!

Certif1ed, I agree with your criticism. It's painful to watch and the 'quality' of the songs seems to be getting worse. I think it's time to throw in the towel; the whole concept is well past its sell-by date. Perhaps it was worthwhile doing in 1956, which I believe was the first time it was held, but today when more than a (US) billion passengers worldwide fly annually and we have a global media industry, it's just not needed anymore. The vast majority of the music is just plain awful, and the blatant political voting in some cases is a joke.

indeed, the voting has NOTHING to do with the peoples taste, it's just political you can see it in nearly EVERY vote from ANY country. It's just mindblowing that all germans always like the song from turkey best, since 10 years or so
Just abolish this contest...NOW!

You hit the nail on the head there, dude!

Now that there are 96 Eastern bloc countries all voting for each other, the winner is... the Ukraine!!! But it was close with the other Eastern bloc countries - they're much worse than Germany/Turkey/Greece/Cyprus ever were (and still are) because there are so many more of them!

It's not about the music - at least the ABBA song from 1974 had a nice tune and was a well-crafted piece of music (even if you don't like it!) - it's about voting for your buddies, AND THAT SUCKS!!!

Although it was getting very, very funny after a few beers - we were practically on the floor laughing during the final rounds of voting as our predictions became uncannily manifest - are Monaco going to give France 12 points......?

YEEEEESSSSS!!!!!!
