Glad you're doing better. When I was 16 I dislocated both knees in a motorcycle accident. My left foot was facing completely backward but it flipped back around during the ambulance ride. Turned out I have double jointed knees. I am available for parties.

I was messing around after a snow and broke my ankle in a frozen over tire track. It twisted left to right. Almost needed surgery.

Does it hurt? I mean what's the feeling now they removed those thingies from your arm? It looks sour.

It's not so bad now. (Percocet is my friend.)
Seriously though, it feels kinda tight because there's still some swelling. The main pain I'm having now is the physical therapy. My elbow and shoulder don't want to bend very much. But they will, mark my words.

Looks like a nasty break there, good to hear you're recovering well.
I broke my collar bone a few years back which was probably the least pleasant experiences i've ever had, and it was also on my dominant side so i was immobilised for quite a while. Not an interesting story either a silly sports accident.

Update: I have another followup appointment with the surgeon on Tuesday, and depending on his assessment, I may be ready to return to work shortly thereafter. I may have to ask a coworker who lives nearby to chauffeur me, but hopefully I will be able to drive soon. (That's the only sticking point as far as my returning to work.)
Also, 5 of the 9 pieces of surgical tape in the photo upthread have fallen off. This is a good sign.

Yup, that's mostly the incision.

As of yesterday I am officially back at work. Not bad for 6 weeks after a major limb fracture!
I still can't drive, so a coworker will be chauffeuring me until I can. Also my physical therapy is coming along slowly. I'm not able to flex or extend my arm as far as my surgeon thinks I should, but I'm keeping after it.
One side effect is that my insomnia is acting up bigtime. When my arm is resting on any surface (like, say, a BED), I become acutely aware of all the hardware in there, and it becomes VERY uncomfortable. And it doesn't help that my brain refuses to shut down, which is my usual cause of insomnia.

Probably gonna be my last post in this thread, but here's an updated pic of my scar, taken this past weekend:

Yikes, looking at the picture I can "see" how your arm looked like when it was disjointed... So good to know that you're eventually intact.

I know I said I was going to let this thread die, but I would just like to mention that I am done with physical therapy. It's been less than 6 months since my accident, and I have most of my range of motion back, and I've built up the strength to such a point that I can do virtually anything I could do before the break. (With the exception of some heavy lifting - I'm not going to help anyone move house very soon.) So yay for self-sufficiency.
Modern medical technology is a wonder, ain't it?
