I was perusing my collection for frame-worthy sleeves and I noticed there were a few different labels. I know about the Charisma / Atlantic versions, but I have some Charisma pressing with a bland Mad Hatter label and some with the Pink Scroll label. I read somewhere those were harder to find. I also have a copy of the Live Gabriel album that has a black Charisma label.

Also, I'd like to start collecting the EPs and Singles. Obviously these aren't as easy to come across, but is there certain things to look for?

It's funny how the colors of the real world only seem really real when you viddy them on the screen.

The Pink Scroll Mad hatter label is incredibly hard to find these days. I can only suggest all 70s Genesis on vinyl is absolutely collectible in any guise esp for the front covers. I have some vinyl of Genesis but the ones I heard that are very rare are the debut, Trespass, Foxtrot, Selling England, Lamb Lies Down, Nursery Cryme and any of the compilations from the 70s. Duke, Invisible Touch and any from the late 80s are not worth that much. I picked up a stack of them for under $10 each.

I have every album from Trespass to Invisible Touch on vinyl (and duplicates of Foxtrot, Trick of the Tale, Wind & Wuthering, Seconds Out and all 4 Abacabs). My local record shop has a few that I'd like to pick up and have been sitting there for a few years at least.

From memory, they have the MAMA single (and a few others), Spot the Pigeon, and a generic compilation-type album that's basically the debut.

I only like vinyls for the covers. So I have to go for The Lamb.  Excellent cover art.  Companion prose inside the gatefold and the discs had sleeves with lyrics and more artwork.
Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

This one?

According to the magazine Record Collector (issue 309, April 2005) the most collectable Genesis record is a US press of the single Silent Sun / That's Me on the Parrot label. Only pressed in three copies (!) and is worth £3500.

I couldn't find a better picture.

You're welcome.

A little correction: I wrote that the collectable singe was pressed in tree copies. That's very likely untrue. What I meant to write was that three copies are known to exist.
