Dredg is an art-prog rock band from Los Gatos California, they have a new cd coming out soon, check them out they are very good and sound nothing like any band out there

Dredg are an awesome band but im not sure if i would consider them prog. But if it were up to me i would probably include them on the site because i love their music so much and consider them a very progressive band. Progressive in the vein of new musical ideas, not necessarily fitting into the prog genre if you understand what im saying.

BTW can't wait for the new album!!!

well wouldnt prog be defined as music that sounds completely different from other genres with experimental sounds and different types of musical ideas?  So wouldn't that make dredg a prog band? lol

I agree with you xhamasaki, they're Neo Progressive for sure, they're listed as such in allmusic.com.

Neo-prog? I dont see the connection. If they were going to be put on the site Art-Rock would be the section.

why not add them, they are one of the better known prog/art bands out there actually

A friend of mine loaned me a cd last year and said I HAD to check this band out.It was Dredg's cd El Cielo and I was very impressed with it.They are a very hard band to categorize.Can't wait for their new album.
