Has anyone hear seen the 1920s silent documentary Häxan? I recently watched the 1968 rerelease narrated by William S Burroughs with an awesome jazz soundtrack. While searching for stuff about the movie, I found that Art Zoyd made a soundtrack for it in 1997! Is this any good? Does it accompany the film well?

I have never seen the film, but Art Zoyd's version is good. Similar to their music for Faust; both albums feature Daniel Denis from Univers Zero.

While I don't think its as great as any of their classic albums up to 1985, I guess its my favorite of theirs from the last 25 years. Its their most inspired, most rhymical from their post classic era, and got some genuine energy. Haven't seen Haxan, but I think the Zoyd's are big fans of the movies they choose, and dead serious about the scores they make.
