Topic: iPad forum posting Posted: December 26 2010 at 13:14 |
Thanks to Tony R for testing and reporting.
To be able to post in the forum you need to make sure you turn off WYSIWG text editor and use the plain text one.

I may be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure I used WYSIWYG without any issues...

I can't post on my iPad, I haven't tried this fix because I use the forums on my Macbook primarily and my iPhone every once in a while. And I like WYSIWYG on those devices.

Hmm, maybe I am mistaken then. I will post back in this thread once I have mine on mine to confirm!

Posting from my iPad, seems to work fine.
I am using Skyfire browser though, don't know if that will be making the difference?

Must point out though that "Skyfire" is a paid for App. I think it is £1.79 for iPhone and more for iPad. That said it does allow you to access many flash videos that you wouldn't normally be able to access on Safari Mobile.
Certainly works well with BBC site.

I can happily report that iPhone message posting/general site browsing has worked without any problems for me for the last 2 years.

I have the problem on iPad using Safari Terra or iCab. The text-input little window is not recognized as such. But with Atomic or Skyfire it works.
It's an annoying bug though.

IPhone's Safari has no problem. It's the iPad native browser the one with the issue.

You don't really have to do anything. Just download Atomic Web Browser and post in your device. I had the problem on iPad and I sold it. I have the problem in iPad 2 but with a different browser it works fine. You don't have to turn off anything (actually, I don't even find an option to do that). Just download Atomic (or Skyfire). ICab used to work but suddenly stopped....

Ok I just found where to change that text editor option. It works. The last post was done in my iPad using Atomic WITH the editor ON. This one is made from Safari with the option OFF. But I still think Atomic is a better option as you don't have to turn it off and you have tabs anyway...

Yeah, Safari on iOS I find to be generally bad.
