Diamanda Galas for me. Annie Haslam has a lovely voice, but Galas's music is just astonishing. I think Amanda Palmer (of The Dresden Dolls) deserves a mention here as well.

I'm no expert on La Femme de Prog but I would've thought Kate "I had David Gilmour play guitar for me' Bush might've rated a mention.... 'Course she might be mentioned on one of the other nine pages of topic exploration so apologies if repeated...
Maybe Jennifer Batten, and those highly talented bass players (oh and singers - Imogen Heap and ... Joss Stone? - Jeff Beck gets as well... (that Live at Ronnie Scott's DVD / CD is the business btw...)
