Yeah, and has anybody read the episede titled Jekyll? I think, that there is a cover of In Court of the Crimson King in the background of Dylan's office, but I can't see it in it's entirety, because it is half covered by a speech bouble.

Well, I have two albums published in France, but I left them to my parents'.
By the way, I remember there was a Dylan Dog movie released in the mid-90's. Have you seen it?

No, i haven't. But thanks for telling me.
I read them in croatian, because slovene is obivously not one of the official ex yu comic book languages.TongueI'm from Slovenia, but whenever anyone tries to publish comics in slovene, he usually fails. The all time record of comics in my language is Alan Ford, who made it to something like number 52, but otherwise comic book fans here are used to read in croatian.Big smile

No no, I just know Dan Dare & American classic DC/Marvel.

Are you familiar with Czech scene, particulary with Karel (Kaja) Saudek ?

His works looks quite like this:

I suppose you'll like the last one the best :-)

I know it's not about Dog, but I hope you won't mind.

Of course I don't mind. The drawings are really cool. It's a shame, I can't read a  word - According to that, yeah, I prefer the last one.Tongue
I'm not really familliar with this, but I might have seen something like that in "Stripoteka," and old yugoslavian comic book magazine, which tried to publish comics from different places all over the world. There was a lot of Conan, Blueberry, some Corto Maltese, Den etc. And of course a whole lot of stuff completely unknown to me.

The first one is collection of three stories by sci-fi authors from Czechoslovakia (so before '89) with drawing by Kája Saudek. They're quite simple (And I consider Ray Bradbury's work of horror stories as "quite simple", yet perfect work of genius - if you understand me), but in a good way of this word.

If you want, just go googling for KAJA SAUDEK and you'll find nice pictures

For example these angels. He made them years before Luis Royo started doing his beautiful works

This one is about expedition to uncharted caves somewhere in South America, where they find ancient alien culture of intelligent Yetti-like people, fight with bandits and finally setting of to their home planet. Well, basic sci-fi, but these drawings are the main attraction.

So script, or word if you like, are actually in just supporting role, pictures are the important ones here. So for example last row has:

vrtulník - helicopter
zdá se, že přistává - it seems like it's landing
pospěšmě si - we better hurry

etc. simple remarks. Either as parody of less difficult style of 50-60's (you know), or as seriously meant "comix" culture.

Your avatar's drawer Mike Mignola is also good one. However, I prefer coloured, over black'n'white ones.

And one more picture. Nice countryside you have in Slovenia ;-)

Hello from another big Dylan Dog fan here!!

Great, great comic - one of the best that came out of Bonelli school - I just love Italian comics.

It appeared in the late 80's (the Serbian translation). I was totally scared while reading some epizodes - but couldn't stop reading. There was no parental advisory back then.

Lot's of references to rock music inside - although I was a bit too young to fully appreciate it.

My former boyfriend, quite a few years ago, was a big fan of Dylan Dog, while I found it a bit too violent for my tastes. I remember reading an episode inspired by H.G. Wells' The Island of Doctor Moreau, which, for some reason I now don't remember, made me very sad.

@Marty McFly: Uh, I've had a look at Saudek and I've gotta say he rocks. His style is quite classical, but effective.
About Mignola, yeah I'm a big Hellboy fan. I posess most of the TPBs, but today It's not my nr 1 comic as it used to be. Allthough I still remember tha thrill of reading Conqueror Worm. I just couldn't control myself, especially in the chapter with the dead alien. Man, that was shocking. If you haven't read it yet, do it.
And yeah, just today we've had one of those days, full of sunshine, not a trace of snow could be seen anywhere anymore. Finally summer's comming (I can feel itCool)
A picture of my town:

Does anyone know, what's two big buildings on the top of the hill, one of them green and one white? We're quite famous because of them.Tongue
The lake, after which, the band I have just joinede is called:

@Clarke2001, I think that the most (obivous) rock references can be found in Lazarus Ledd, but I find that comic kinda crappy. I've seen that you also like Martin Mystere and Alan Ford. Have you heard of the Slovenian comic book fan club Stripoholik? I'm a member.

@Raff, Which language was that? I have only heard for Dylan Dog in Croatian, Italian (original) and German, I think.

It had been translated into French and I think it also had been translated into English.

It was Italian - sorry if I didn't specify, but sometimes I am too much used to the fact that people here know where I am originally from. However, someone who is new to the forum will only see that I am from the USA.
